The project Tuning A Song draws on the story of Homer’s epic The Odyssey and reinterprets it as a contemporary reflection on life and identity. The “song” becomes a metaphor for life – a unique melody each of us composes through experiences, choices, and relationships. Inspired by a personal vision of Ithaca, the project connects ancient wisdom with the modern world, emphasizing courage, inherited knowledge, and openness to uncertainty.

Like Odysseus, who leaves home and faces a series of challenges to return transformed, the contemporary individual undertakes a journey of “departure” – physical, emotional, or symbolic. In a world shaped by rapid change and constant questioning of identity, this journey becomes a necessary process of self-discovery.

Odysseus’ relationships with women are reinterpreted through contemporary gender dynamics: female characters are no longer merely obstacles or helpers but complex and equal actors. This opens space to explore power dynamics, emotional bonds, and how relationships shape identity.
